Hard to believe summer is halfway over.  I’ve been a busy bee between sessions, and making sure my kids have a summer full of adventure, exploring, and fun.  We are heading out of town to visit family, and play in the sand, so please be patient if I can’t return your calls/message next week.

2010 Favorites :: Photo Contest

It’s photo contest time, and I just want to start by saying getting this list compiled was SO hard. I have so many favorites from many fantastic sessions last year. And I am so lucky to have worked with all those wonderful families, new and returning.

So, first things first, a heartfelt THANK YOU to all my clients!

Secondly, what’s a contest without prizes!?!!
First place will receive a Free 2011 Session* & 11×14 print.
Second place will receive an 11×14 print* with their new 2011 session
Third place will receive an 8×10 print* with their new 2011 session. But that’s not all…
During the photo contest week (now until end of March), you, your friends, colleagues, neighbors, or anyone who stumbles on this post can also take advantage of a $50* credit when booking your session. This can be combined with your winnings too and with your referral credits!

What to do? Vote once in the poll below for your favorite image, and tell your friends/family/co-workers/neighbors to vote for your image, email or post a link to your facebook and/or twitter. You must vote only once per computer/IP. Repeat votes will not be counted and could disqualify that entry, so please play fair.

The fun photo contest has come to an end. Over 400 votes, neck-to-neck battles, the final results are in!

I will start with the honorable mentions, tied for 4th place, and missed the podium by one vote are:
Images #5 and #14. I’ve added a gift for all your hard work, so email me to claim your $40 print credit for a new session in 2010!

Third place, with 43 votes goes to image #10.

Second place, with 65 votes goes to image #11.

What better way to start the spring, than to celebrate some of my favorite images from last year!  It was a great year, and I wish I can showcase every single baby, child, senior and family, but that would only be possible if I do it in rounds.  I am all about keeping things simple this year, so I’ve narrowed it down to 21 images.

So here are the details:

How? Just vote for your favorite image below. Limit one vote per person/IP (multiple votes from the same IP will disqualify the entry, so please no cheating). Pass it along to your friends & coworkers, post it on your facebook, link it to your blog or tweet it.

When? Today  through Sunday, April 18, 11:59pm.

What? Prizes*??? Of course!

Helping Hearts For Haiti – win a free session |Lexington KY Photographer|

The devastation in Haiti is unimaginable, and it saddens me.  My husband happened to grow up on the other side of the island in the Dominican, so we’ve been glued to the news watching in disbelief, wishing I can do something.  Thanks to Michele of PinkleToes Photography, and Lyndsay Stradtner of Life in Motion Photography, who started Helping Hearts, I’m joining in an effort to help out with the situation in Haiti. But, we need you, too! Here’s the deal:

You could win a photo session for your child(ren) or high school senior!

• This session will be photographed by myself and will be held in Lexington before April 4th, 2010.
• Session is for up to 3 children (or one senior) and will last between 1-1.5 hours.
• Winner will also receive 20 fully processed, high resolution images on CD. Print to your heart’s content!

How to win:

• Make a MINIMUM donation of $10 to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund.
• Forward a copy of your receipt to info@zoombugphotos.com.
• All entries must be RECEIVED by midnight (Eastern time) on January 31th Febuary 2, 2010 (extended due to email problems).
• Winner will be drawn at random and announced on February 1st 3rd.
• You can enter as many times as you’d like, but each entry must be the minimum $10 donation.

Other details:

• Session participants must sign a model release.
• Session must be held in Lexington by April 4th.
• If the winner does not claim his/her prize by Feb. 5th or cannot claim the prize, then another winner will be drawn.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks, and I am just barely catching up before the next storm sweeps by. I am heading into my busy season, and my September is fully booked. So if you are thinking of fall/holiday session, now is the time to book. Holiday order deadline is November 20, last session for holiday delivery is November 8.

1. The first is the slideshow set to music, for viewing on your TV or computer. This is a great way for you to keep all the images for years to come, and it’s an economical option at only $150. They come in a nice case too!

2. You’ve asked for it – so here it is. A full digital package with every single edited image on DVD with reprint rights, so you can print as many copies as you want.
