Happy Easter :)

photo contest update & my little Picaso :: lexington, ky lifestyle photographer

I promised an update for the on-going photo contest, and with only  ONE more day left, it’s still a very close race for 2nd and 3th places, so keep those votes coming :)
I will be disabling the vote results tomorrow, to keep the winners a surprise, so don’t be alarmed if you suddenly don’t see it.  Here are the current standings from earlier today:

On a different note, I’ve been trying to be better about getting photos of my own kids.  We do lots of fun stuff together, and it usually involves big messes.
Here’s a glimpse of a favorite afternoon activity of my little budding artist:

I’ll be back on Friday to announce the winners of the contest!

Before we left on our vacation late last month, my very good friend Aurelia was tasked with doing our first family photos.  I *really* should be better about this, but both my husband and I do NOT enjoy being photographed.  But I am doing this for my kids, so they have captured memories of us together.  Aurelia did an amazing job!  We all just had fun, and I can’t wait to do this again.  Check out her awesome work, with Sarah Jane at www.sanolaphotography.com, and here’s our preview that I just LOVE:

Our two weeks in Vienna flew by.  It was great seeing my parents, and being with them.  It was amusing seeing my husband “deal” with a large city – it’s SO not his cup of tea!  I miss my parents, and although we are lucky they live is such a beautiful city, I wish they were closer.  Here’s my camera phone snaps of some of the sights in Vienna, Austria:

I hope I will get around to editing some of the photos from our family vacation to share with you. I *hope* is the key word, as I looked back and had not touched many files from last years’ vacation.  Maybe I’ll do better this year.

Today, on my way to work, I was greeted by a dragonfly.  If you’ve seen my logo, then you know they must mean something special to me.  This one would not move from my car’s antenna.  I walked inside, grabbed my camera and he was still there, so I proceeded to take a few shots, and what do you…he looked at me and smiled, and kept on doing it :)

Here’s my little smiley friend from today…isn’t he cute:
